DESCRIPTION
Peter and the Dinosaurs is a creative collaboration between the Musica Reflecta chamber orchestra and Madeleine Co. This immersive concert experience evokes the visual magic of colourful picture books come to life as stories are told through an enchanting combination of art and music.
Madeleine Co. creates a colourful multimedia installation to compliment the rich storytelling behind the orchestral pieces Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev and Carnival of the Dinosaurs by Dean Burry. A custom film incorporates layers of colourful cut-outs animated using overhead projectors and blended into an enchanting forest environment. Combined with the live chamber orchestra, the installation inspires a sense of visual wonder as the audience sees the music come to life before their eyes.
Peter and the Dinosaurs takes place on Sunday, May 5th, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Suitable for all ages, the concert invites children to attend for free, and includes a free music workshop for kids before the show.
